The Festival!

In the early afternoon of the day, the men of the church and the team created a basketball team, to go up against the 4 other teams that were driving in from all around the barrios. "AMERICANIGAN!," the church youth did shout! A little play on words combining "Americans," and "Caniogan," which is the town we were in. SO THE GAMES BEGAN! All afternoon the basketball games set the tone for the remainder of the night! EXCITEMENT! A fun time it was to sit in the stands and watch a friendly competition. The games continued till sunset until the festival was to begin....

Two thousand souls. That is how many people were present at the Festival of Life! This was the day we were all hoping and preparing for. This is one of the main reasons why we went to all the schools and churches. It is the reason why we went and talked to all the pastors. So that the multitude would come, and hear of Jesus Christ, and what He did for us! The plan of the day was to have everyone come to the basketball court and open up with worship led by Mike Terrell. The plan went accordingly, however we needed a much larger venue! Praise God! People were pouring into the road and arrived by the truck loads! After worship, the team went into the center of the court, surrounded by the eager crowd, and performed the "freedom skit." Free from the sins that the world and the devil attempts to stain us with, but with the blood of Jesus Christ, we are set free from it all, if only we allow it. The skit was a hit! No, JESUS was a hit! Next, Joseph Laurianti and Pastor Aguido gave a message of the LOVE that is offered by God! It was beautiful to see how every ear and eye was there to hear and see of who and what Jesus Christ was all about. The Lord says,in Isaiah 55:11

"So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth;
It shall not return to Me void,
But it shall accomplish what I please,
And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it."

No matter what is seen or unseen, Gods word promises not to return void! If we ourselves did not see one soul confess with thier mouth that Jesus is Lord, we can stand on this promise, that it WILL prosper! How comforting, how amazing! Joseph Laurianti and Pastor Aguido were being obediant to the calling to preach the Good news, knowing that the word of God preached is never a waste or lacking in purpose. But, God is so good, that we did see souls come to know Christ! Hundreds! After being fed spiritually, the woman of the church had a gift for everyone! Since the night before, until moments after the message, the woman had cooked 8 pigs and created a feast for all! That night, TWO THOUSAND meals were served! The lord provided for it all! He is always feeding

Kids Camp

What an exciting day! Today is the kids camp! The team, the church children and teens all engaged in a day of games and activities! In a open green field, along side of the bright blue ocean, the group ran, skipped and played all day. Today was designed to bring the church youth closer together, creating new memories, and to just have fun! They all played tug-of-war, and many other games. All day long for both young and old, they experienced life as a child. That is how the Father wants us to approach Him, as a child. To enjoy the life He has graced us with, and the people He has placed in our lives. There was not much to today except a long rope and a few blind folds for some other games; but one very important thing was there...the LOVE for Jesus Christ. That love alone, is all we need to enjoy life, no matter our circumstances. No matter what provisions we think we have or do not have. God alone will provide us with the child like joy, when we have child like faith in Him. Amen!
